The Petersen Innovation Transfer Award is awarded to future-oriented product developments and technology transfer. The focus is on technology leadership and excellence in the development of innovative products and outstanding application of methods and procedures that represent the desired transfer between science and industry. A unique technology award in Germany and one of the most highly endowed and prestigious prizes of its kind in the country.
A large number of companies applied with innovative and turn-key projects. In a two-stage process, 9 high-profile and impulse-generating projects were then shortlisted by an independent high-level jury. „Innovations are indispensable for future developments. At the same time, however, they also have to reach the market successfully, „said Christian Zöllner, director of the Peterson Foundation, in his laudatory speech, explaining why the foundation had proclaimed the first Innovation Transfer Award in Schleswig-Holstein „as an impulse for everyone“. The jury voted clearly for the ACQUANDAS project – the development of a technology platform for bioelectronic and microtechnology medical products – as trend-setting and excellent, and awarded it the 1st prize!
Among the many honored well-wishers were the Federal Minister of Education and Research a.D. Professor Johanna Wanka and the Prime Minister of Schleswig-Holstein, Daniel Günther. The Dean of the Technical Faculty, Prof. Reinhard Koch, credited all successful projects as exemplary for the successful transfer from theory to practice.
